Accounts Administrator

Freelance Guernsey is looking for an organised and enthusiastic Accounts Administrator – Purchase & Sales Ledger to join our Finance team.

This is a Guernsey-based position and the role will primarily support the day-to-day finance
operations of our Guernsey business. However, as part of our wider Channel Islands Finance function, the role may also involve supporting accounting and bookkeeping activities relating to our Jersey operations when required.

The position has a primary focus on Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger and day-to-day bookkeeping and would suit someone who enjoys working with numbers, takes pride in accuracy and wants to be part of a busy, supportive commercial environment.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Processing supplier invoices and credit notes accurately and on time
• Maintaining the Purchase Ledger and supplier accounts
• Supplier statement reconciliations and investigating differences
• Preparing information for supplier payment runs
• Maintaining the Sales Ledger and customer accounts
• Posting and allocating customer receipts and payments
• Following up and resolving outstanding account queries
• Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Accurate posting and coding of financial transactions
• Assisting with intercompany transactions and reconciliations where required
• Supporting month-end accounting processes
• Maintaining accurate accounting records and supporting documentation
• Responding to queries from suppliers, customers and colleagues
• General bookkeeping and finance administration
• Providing support to the wider Finance team as required
• Supporting Jersey finance activities where required as part of the wider Channel Islands Finance function

We are looking for someone who is:

• Accurate, organised and comfortable working with numbers
• Able to manage their workload and meet deadlines
• Confident using Excel and accounting systems
• A good communicator who is comfortable dealing with both internal teams and external suppliers
• Proactive and willing to investigate and resolve discrepancies
• Able to work independently while also being part of a team
• Reliable and committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy and confidentiality

Previous experience within an accounts, bookkeeping, Purchase Ledger or Sales Ledger role
would be an advantage.

Accounting qualifications or studies would be welcomed but are not essential. We are equally interested in candidates with strong practical bookkeeping experience and the right
attitude.

Experience within the motor trade is not essential.

Service Advisor
